My mission at Love Your Home LLC is to help homeowners purchase and create a home that is functional, beautiful and unique.
My passion for all things “home” started at a young age. My mother is an avid gardener who has provided me endless inspiration and with artists on both sides of my family I was encouraged to express myself through making things and being an entrepreneur. From custom designed floral arrangements and hand made paper, glued-up sculptures from any material that wasn’t nailed down, I rarely had a clean room. I designed and dug my very first water garden in middle school and by high school had a little business installing and maintaining them for others. I earned a BFA with a concentration in Ceramics from East Carolina University and from there I furthered my education with a degree in Interior Design and then later an education in Sustainability Technology.
I was lucky to be qualified to work in the design industry in a city with thriving new home sales in the early 2000’s. I enjoyed opportunities to design floor plans, kitchens, baths, and select finishes for spec homes and custom builds working under architects and with other designers while the housing market was at it’s peak. I taught in a highly ranked community college Interior Design program alongside some unique characters who’s company I cherish. I have been an estimator at a commercial cabinet shop that did government work as well as an interior designer for retail customers in Lowes Home Improvement stores. I’ve been an artist and an art teacher. An avid volunteer and a event planner. I’ve owned a boutique home renovation company and enjoyed not only creating designs but installing them as well. Most recently I have added a career as a real estate broker to my repertoire. And now, luckily I can use all of my expertise together.
I am blessed to have a wonderful family including my partner Matthew who is wonderfully compassionate attorney at Evergreen Estate Planning and Elderlaw, a son Tre’ who is following his own dreams and two silly pups, Jackie and Blue. We live in the foothills of North Carolina in the lovely community of Elkin. We are both highly involved in our community and try our very best to practice gratitude and give back to others.
